This race I was able to do for 4 years, and I notice the women's category has less attention regarding start time and waves compared to the men's. Their social media and website presentation consistence consist of more white male representation and lack of marginalized group representation for displacement. There is less promotions in getting women to do show up for racing, and there is a noticeable decline this past two year in the women's pro category.
I’ve done this race for times and have had a pretty good experience. It’s rare they have women sizes in t-shirts that come with the swag bag. They start the women’s wave as one group and behind the 60-70+ year old men which makes it hard to race and pass all of them. One year, the announcer forgot to call our category winners and argued with us when we told him he missed us. Regardless, it’s a fun race and a way to escape Colorado winter.
