I would definitely recommend Zia rides due to the events, being fun and having an overall positive race environment for everyone! The race director says it best before every race, “don’t be an asshole“. The emphasis is on having fun, being respectful and inclusive of all racers, no matter the ability level. At the last Zia rides race in Cañon City, Colorado, Seth, the race, director, made a point after the race to encourage people who were attending to try to get more female racers to the race next year. Zia rides makes a big effort to have young riders race during the events I have been to. They are trying to encourage the next generation(s) of riders to have fun and be included. The 10er of Old Tucson is a diverse group of racers with the most female racers I have seen at a mountain bike race. As for community outreach with Zia Rides, I am less well versed…but with the overall messaging being consistent across three different states(AZ,NM, & CO so far)Zia Rides is definitely worth following and racing with them.
