This event is more about the experience, fund raising, and including everyone that wants to join than big price purses. They reach out well in advance to make sure all are welcome and open registration early for women and non-binary athletes, also offering reduced entry fees for them. The event is a 45 mile point to point starting on the North East end of Duluth in Lester Park, follows the Duluth Traverse across town and ends in Chambers Grove on the South West end of town. There are several well stocked aid stations along the way as well as a few random support stations with people cheering racers on from the adjacent neighborhoods. They have a really neat timing system that stops timing at major road crossings and intersections, so if your held up by traffic you don't need to worry about the people in front of you getting away as you're all on equal ground from that aspect. At the finish they have some food and beverage options, and then a raffle at the after party. I've done the event all three years and looking forward to 2026.
